June’s theme for the photo blogging challenge hosted by http://hoohaablog.com was anything goes.

My fave cafe/restaurant Caffe 312 has Pistachio macaroons. This is quite possibly my favorite dessert.

I went to a wine tasting and I thought it started at 6 but it started at 6:30. While I waited for everything to get started, I took pictures. I like the way this turned out.

We went hiking at Jones Gap State Park in South Carolina. The hike was about 3 miles round trip. The day was perfect weather for hiking. The trail was rocky but not too steep. Our group had 5 children (all under 10 years old) and they were able to do the hike for the most part without getting too tired.

The local community theater performed Shrek the Musical. It was hilarious. I enjoyed myself immensely. The guy that played Donkey had the facial expressions down to such extent, I thought he was as good as the cartoon! The whole cast was great. It amazes me that there is so much talent in a town as small as ours.

The sunflowers that hubby planted have bloomed. They did not bloom as quickly as anticipated because there has not been that much rain.

I love macarons! So I liked that shot for sure! 😉
Good set of photos for this month’s challenge. Those waterfalls look really nice. And I love sunflowers. I need to try and find some to shoot sometime this summer!

Ha ha ha! I had all kinds of things to say and then donkey man threw me off LOL! That is so funny! Pistachio macaroons… oh my GOSH. That sounds AMAZING. Add a little almond to it and it would be absolute heaven. Love all your photos… the hiking picture is so interesting… it is really artistic!

Great eclectic group of photos! I love pistachios but haven’t had any in a very long time (soooo expensive). And I’m happy you didn’t miss your wine event. That would have just been terrible! 🙂

I have rediscovered pistachios. I used to loved them but then forgot about them. The harvest must have been good this year because I am seeing them everywhere.

As usual, your food and food-related photos are fantastic! But as someone who spends as much time as possible out and about – hiking, biking or whatever – the waterfall photograph and the few sentences about your hike really resonated. Great job on the waterfall – it’s always tricky to get the water exposed for long enough that it’s smooth without overdoing it.

I could have stayed at the waterfalls for hours. I love the sound of running water.

Great set of shots for the month. Since I’m such a sucker for sunflowers, I’m going to have to go with your sunflower shot as my favorite for this set.
