Caught on Camera ♥♥♥

Synopsis

Ty is an outdoorsman whose television show is about surviving in the wild. Kate is his assistant who does all the organization to make sure the show is in operation.

She gets hurt during filming and it scares him. It could have been worse and she could have died. From that point on, the pair explores the feelings they have for each other and try to decide what should happen next.

Opinion

The story had promise in the beginning. By the end though, I was tired of both of them. Ty and Kate argued a lot. I wondered if that was what their relationship would be like in the future. Ty deciding what was best without consulting Kate. Then they would argue. Then make up. Then argue some more.

When Ty makes his grand gesture to prove his love, I was left wondering if that made up for the rest of the book.

I am conflicted.

I am not annoyed with the ending, but I think the characters could have been written better in order to develop their romantic relationship.

Should you buy? This is one of those books that I would suggest buying if on sale OR part of a compilation. It is light romance. Perfect if you are looking for something that is not too serious, this is fine.

Baby Bonanza (Silhouette Desire) ♥♥

Synopsis

Nick, a cruise ship owner and playboy billionaire, cannot stand a liar. That is what he thinks Jenna did to him and he will not forgive her for it.

I’m not a lonely rich boy looking for love.”

Jenna sees the circumstances differently. While heartbroken, she had cut her losses. Until she found herself taking care of the result of her lovefest with Nick: TWINS. She came to ask for child support, but as usual, Nick does things his way.

Opinion

This is the standard Harlequin romance: playboy, commitment phobia billionaire, unplanned pregnancy, reluctant dad. And a woman in love with a man who does not trust her.

I did not like Nick. He was a self-righteous jerk for most of the book. He has women throwing themselves at him and he pretends that the only reason he flirts back with all of them is to prevent embarrassing them. I do not buy it. He is setting up his booty call girl of the week.

Plus he was overbearing. When he decides he wants something, he will not stop until he gets it. Jenna is in his crosshairs and he wants her. Objectify much?

She was trouble. He knew it. Felt it. And couldn’t stop himself from wanting. From having.” – Nick

We both feel it. We both want this. Why deny ourselves?” – Nick

When he decided that he wanted Jenna, she was caught up in the romance of it all that she decided to deal with the consequences later.

Bad idea Jenna. But sometimes a person gets steamrolled into poor decision making.

About half way through the book, she finally grew a backbone. You go girl!

… but that did not last long.

Why does it have to be you who touches my heart?” – Jenna

Yes it all works out in the end. In real life, he would have sent the child support checks and continued his playboy lifestyle. The END.

Should you buy? I am undecided. If you love Harlequin, then you will probably enjoy since the writing style is typical Harlequin. I think I got the book because the cover looked so comical. I did not even read the blurb. I knew there would be at least one billionaire and two babies.

Accidentally Flirting with the CEO (Books 1-3) (Whirlwind Romance Series) ♥♥♥

Synopsis

Alexa accidentally sends a racy email to her hot boss Jesse (Jess).

Jess was four things. Tall. Dark. Lean. Sexy.”

Jess is attracted to Alexa but as his employee and knowing it violates company policy, he does nothing to act on this attraction.

As long as Alexa was his employee, any type of personal relationship was out of the question.”

That does not stop him from fantasizing though.

“Jess wanted her is more positions than just his account manager.”

From the accidental email, it was a surprise to know that she felt the same way. This changes things and he is trying to figure out how they can explore the relationship without causing problems at work. Adding to the complexity of the situation, Jess’ sister has an instant dislike towards Alexa.

Opinion

Have you ever accidentally send an email to wrong person?

Not that you should try this if you have a crush on your boss, but it made an interesting story nonetheless. While the story was short, I thought it was evenly paced to keep my interest.

I liked Alexa and wanted her to have a happy ending. Learning her back story was somber, but it said a lot about her as to what type of person she was.

I understand why Jess wanted to hide the relationship. People would get the wrong idea as to why Alexa got promoted. Office gossip can be brutal.

Jess’ sister annoyed me. She was so overbearing like she was his mother.

It was a while before I realized that the book was the first in a series. That is a good thing. While the story continues, the author gives me the choice to decide if I want to read more without ending the book on a cliffhanger. I am surprised they said “love” so soon.

Should you buy? Yes. While cliquey, it was fun and the hero/heroine had great interaction. I might get the next book in the series to see if Jess’ sister gets a man. I believe that a little love in anyone’s life will mellow them out.

Photo Blogging Challenge March 2015 theme: TWO #photoblog

March’s theme for the photo blogging challenge hosted by http://hoohaablog.com was the number 2 in celebration that it has been two years since he started this challenge.

Picture #1

When I took this picture we two of our peach trees had blossoms. I had to take a close up shot of it. I love close up shots of flowers.

My uncle and I went to see the 2pm matinée show of the play Willy Wonka at the local community theatre. We had to take an “us-eee”. Just the two of us. It was a fun time. Of course, my uncle (unprompted by me) did his usual deuces. Peace to everyone!

I went to a conference and I limited myself at lunch to two of these red velvet whoopie pies. Old Main Catering has done it again! The red velvet cake was so delicious with a hint of chocolate. The cream cheese frosting filling was divine! Creamy. Smooth. Sweet but not overly sweet. I wish I had taken the whole tray. My waistline is happy I only ate two though.

I went to an oyster roast hosted by the rotary club. I took a picture of these two oysters because these were the last two before we received our next bucket. This is one event where my hubby wants to attend. He is slim and trim but can eat double his weight in oysters if you let him. Oyster knife in one hand and hot sauce in the other.

I went bowling with friends and these are the two balls that I used. Still did not break 100. The highest score I had was 82. The lowest was 48. Both divisible by 2 🙂 Funny side note: we were on lane 22.

***Bonus picture***

We went to a bacon festival (YES that is a thing http://www.americalovesbacon.com) in Columbia SC. We knew one of the vendors (Debbie from Divine Smoke for Carolina Pride) and she let us try these Bacon-Oreo cream cheese concoction that her daughter made (looks like a truffle but she called it a cookie). In the center of each is a piece of bacon. In the milk chocolate on top is bits of crunchy bacon. A very rich, decadent dessert. Delicious to the max! I told my friend that her daughter has talent. I hope she remembers me when her daughter is a fancy pastry chef somewhere!

Taking a Spring Break- back April 1st with #AtoZChallenge

I am taking a short hiatus because I am participating in a month long challenge in April called Blogging from A to Z.
In April, I will be blogging every day except Sundays.

Each day will correspond to a letter of the alphabet. Day 1- A, Day 2- B, and so on.

I am trying to get ahead of the game and start thinking which items/books I am going to review as part of this challenge. Mostly books of course. But I am going to also try to write some of those shorter blog posts that have been knocking around in my head and I have been procrastinating to put pen to paper (yes I have to write my posts before I type them).
