Photo Blogging Challenge: Whatcha Eatin #photochallenge #foodie

The theme for November’s photo blogging challenge hosted by http://hoohaa.com/ was Whatcha Eatin. I love food and my challenge this month was to decide which pictures I wanted to use!

Without further ado, here are my pictures on the theme.

Photo 1

Lamb chops from a restaurant in Athens, Greece (cooked on the grill and seasoned with oregano and other spices)

Photo 2

Pasta Carbonara from a restaurant in Fira, Santorini (the BEST I have ever had!!! I loved that they loaded me up with parmesan cheese.)

Photo 3

Champagne and a croissant at the Charles de Gaulle in Paris, France (Yes it was 7:30am but I was on vacation. Can’t pass through France without having Champagne!)

Photo 4

Roasted Curry Chickpeas made at home (I am obsessed with this tasty snack! Its easy to make too. The recipe is here.)

Photo 5

Gorditas al pastor and Lime soda from a Mexican restaurant in Greenwood SC (Tasty Mexican street food)

Photo Blogging Challenge: Liquid #photoblog

The theme for October’s photo blogging challenge hosted by http://hoohaa.com/ was LIQUID. I tried to find cool, different pictures that fit the theme.

Without further ado, here are my pictures on the theme.

Photo 1

This is my friend’s fancy espresso and cappuccino machine. One Saturday we were all together and as everyone was drinking their coffee, I decided to spotlight the machine that made it all possible 🙂

Photo 2

After watching a video on Facebook, I made a face serum with the recipe that was featured in the video. The ingredient Blue Tansy gives it its vibrant color. I have been using it daily and my skin seems softer because of it. Plus, it was really easy to make.

1.5 oz rose hip oil & .5 oz jojoba oil

20 drops each essential oil Blue Tansy, Frankincense, Lavender, Sandalwood

I had to go on a business trip and stayed at a Embassy Suites. I love that they have complimentary drinks during their Happy Hour. I ordered a vodka cranberry so that I could get my Vitamin C.

Photo 4

My business trip destination was San Francisco. Of course, I had to get a picture of the San Francisco bridge. It is so peaceful to sit at the park at look out over the water. However, I could not stay long because it got chilly. That wind is something else!

Photo 5

At an art event that I attended, there was a potter spinning clay. It was mesmerizing to watch her mold the clay with her hands, adding drops of water at the right time. What started as a lump of clay became the vase you see in the picture. I am planning to take her class because I want to learn how to make pottery.

Photo Blogging #Challenge July 2016 theme: #photographer choice #photoblog #fun #influenster

july_results

July’s theme for the photo blogging challenge hosted by http://hoohaablog.com was Photographer’s Choice.

The hardest part about this was deciding which pictures to use. When the theme is whatever I want to share, that is really easy but really hard at the same time. Without further ado, my photo picks.

Photo #1
I received a sample of ZzzQuil from Influenster to try their product I’m exchange for an honest review. Click here to see my review on YouTube. In short, this product works as advertised. I slept well with no drowsiness the next day. I participated in an Instagram campaign to post the product reveal and I liked the picture I posted so much that I’m sharing here. This is for the sleep lovers!

In my plants on the porch of my house, I saw a baby lizard (I think it is a Green Anole -Anolis carolinensis). He was too cute and was being so still, I wanted to capture him on camera. He darted off as soon as the picture was taken.  🙂 Can you see him? He blends in so well with the green leaves.

A new donut shop opened in town. I love their box because it is so positive. Makes you feel good about eating donuts. YES! I DO deserve a donut! 😀

I had to go on a business trip and I at lunch at Volare in Hapeville, GA. I love the colors of this plate. It is grilled Atlantic salmon with a blueberry reduction, honeyed goat cheese and a side of whole grain rice. The salmon was superb! The blueberry reduction was slightly sweet and paired well with the goat cheese. It was creamy and tart with a hint of honeyed sweetness too. The dish had everything I wanted in a meal: salty, sweet, tangy, tart.

My bucket/ Life’s-to-do list has one less item on it. I went to my first Cirque du Soliel show in July. Ovo was playing at the Bon Secours Wellness Area. I decided back in April that I was going with or without any of my friends. I sent out the text and asked who wanted to go, and a few people responded in time for me to buy the tickets. We had a blast and enjoyed the show thoroughly. It makes you appreciate the dedication it must take for the performers to have that much control over their bodies to master such feats.

I had a fun filled month and cannot wait to see what August will bring 🙂

Photo Blogging #Challenge November 2015 theme: #Morning #photoblog

November’s theme for the photo blogging challenge hosted by http://hoohaablog.com/ was MORNING. I am not usually a morning person, so many of my pics will be of food. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for me. If I have to get up before noon, at least I can I eat good food. Other than that, it was not as difficult as I thought to find other photo opportunities.

This is my favorite Chobani flavor at the moment. I like eating dessert for breakfast.

We went to Chicago to visit friends. Saturday morning, we ate at Wildberry. This is their signature French toast. It was delicious! If you go to Wildberry, make sure you plan for at least an hour wait! And budget accordingly for parking meters! Breakfast was worth it though.

I tried to make this bacon wrapped grilled cheese sandwich I saw on a video on Facebook. The concept is nice, but the execution was not so great. The top layer of bacon burned even though the heat was on medium. The inner layer of bacon was not cooked all the way. The cheese did not melt. And the bread was soggy from all the bacon grease. Yuck! I love bacon and I love grilled cheese, but the combination did not turn out well. I think I might try again but use thinner bacon and thicker bread.

Black Friday morning, I went to CVS and bought all this stuff. With coupons and sales, I spent $6 total for $24 worth of products. Super couponing at its finest.

I had to take a road trip for work. The sun rise was so pretty that I had to take a picture.

Those are my pictures for November’s challenge. I hope you are inspired to go in the world and capture it with your camera!

Photo Blogging #Challenge June 2015 theme: Anything Goes #photoblog

june 2015

June’s theme for the photo blogging challenge hosted by http://hoohaablog.com was anything goes.

Picture 1

My fave cafe/restaurant Caffe 312 has Pistachio macaroons. This is quite possibly my favorite dessert.IMG_8729

Photo 2

I went to a wine tasting and I thought it started at 6 but it started at 6:30. While I waited for everything to get started, I took pictures. I like the way this turned out.

We went hiking at Jones Gap State Park in South Carolina. The hike was about 3 miles round trip. The day was perfect weather for hiking. The trail was rocky but not too steep. Our group had 5 children (all under 10 years old) and they were able to do the hike for the most part without getting too tired.

The local community theater performed Shrek the Musical. It was hilarious. I enjoyed myself immensely. The guy that played Donkey had the facial expressions down to such extent, I thought he was as good as the cartoon! The whole cast was great. It amazes me that there is so much talent in a town as small as ours.IMG_8952

The sunflowers that hubby planted have bloomed. They did not bloom as quickly as anticipated because there has not been that much rain.
