Fall Hard: Navy SEAL contemporary romance (SEALs Undone series Book 2) ♥♥♥

Synopsis

Jared is a Navy SEAL and Cassie is a divorcee living next door. They are good friends that like hanging out with each other.

She was in a man-free period in her life and happy for it.”

After a while, Cassie began to see things with Jared differently.

She’d started to want him to play with her.”

Jared wants her too, but thinks that his secret might turn her off. **NO SPOILERS**

Opinion

This seems like your typical friendship turn lover scenario. Jared’s secret put an interesting twist to the whole story. I had to read the sentence twice. Trust me that his secret was unexpected to say the least.

At any rate, his secret does not mean the end of the relationship. This was a good thing in my opinion because Jared was a sweet guy. Cassie deserved some happiness as well.

This is a short novella, so there was not much character development or fluff to the story.

As with all books with SEALs as main characters, there was a lot of profanity.

Also, the loves scenes were very detailed.

Should you buy? Yes. I say read for Jared’s secret alone! I do not know why this fascinated me so much but it did. Plus I have a soft spot for SEAL romances. The story is short enough that you will finish in an hour or two.

Accidentally Flirting with the CEO (Books 1-3) (Whirlwind Romance Series) ♥♥♥

Synopsis

Alexa accidentally sends a racy email to her hot boss Jesse (Jess).

Jess was four things. Tall. Dark. Lean. Sexy.”

Jess is attracted to Alexa but as his employee and knowing it violates company policy, he does nothing to act on this attraction.

As long as Alexa was his employee, any type of personal relationship was out of the question.”

That does not stop him from fantasizing though.

“Jess wanted her is more positions than just his account manager.”

From the accidental email, it was a surprise to know that she felt the same way. This changes things and he is trying to figure out how they can explore the relationship without causing problems at work. Adding to the complexity of the situation, Jess’ sister has an instant dislike towards Alexa.

Opinion

Have you ever accidentally send an email to wrong person?

Not that you should try this if you have a crush on your boss, but it made an interesting story nonetheless. While the story was short, I thought it was evenly paced to keep my interest.

I liked Alexa and wanted her to have a happy ending. Learning her back story was somber, but it said a lot about her as to what type of person she was.

I understand why Jess wanted to hide the relationship. People would get the wrong idea as to why Alexa got promoted. Office gossip can be brutal.

Jess’ sister annoyed me. She was so overbearing like she was his mother.

It was a while before I realized that the book was the first in a series. That is a good thing. While the story continues, the author gives me the choice to decide if I want to read more without ending the book on a cliffhanger. I am surprised they said “love” so soon.

Should you buy? Yes. While cliquey, it was fun and the hero/heroine had great interaction. I might get the next book in the series to see if Jess’ sister gets a man. I believe that a little love in anyone’s life will mellow them out.

The Best Man for a reason

The Best Man ♥♥♥

Synopsis

Colin is a trouble making best man at his brother’s wedding. Usually the epitome of a quiet English gentleman, the reason for his out-of-character behavior is that he was once dating the bride. She dumped him for his brother, but in a crazy, dysfunctional way, he was guilted into not only being in the wedding but being the best man.

Beth is a wedding planner with her personal goal to be named partner in the business. She needs for the wedding to go on without a hitch. In this case, it means dealing with Colin’s antics so that he does not ruin his brother’s big day.

Opinion

The story premise was original enough. However, Colin fell in love too quickly for me.

Even with that, I thought Colin was such a sweet cutie with a sense of humor. He was too nice and let his family railroad him when they should have been more understanding. For that one point on its own, he deserved a happy ending.

In the beginning I agreed with Beth when she questioned the relationship. But after a while, I started to get annoyed. Since falling in love did not fit into her plan, she keeps trying to minimize what Colin and she have. Beth was, at times, a grumpy killjoy when it came to love, and then would be despondent that she might be missing out on something.

Overall, the story was cute. I liked Colin and he deserved all the hugs and kisses. But this is how I felt about Beth.

Should you buy? Yea it was cute enough to have in your Kindle collection. This is one of those light romances with a feel good hero.

This is who I imagine will play Colin in the movie version of this book.

She’s not in it for the money

The Substitute Millionaire (Silhouette Desire) : ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Synopsis:

Julie loses rock paper scissors with her sister and has to go on a blind date with Todd Ashton III. Her previously estranged grandmother set it up and sweeten the deal by offering $1 million. Ryan agreed with his cousin Todd to go in his place to teach gold digging women a lesson because he assumed Julie was in it for the money.

Ryan did not anticipate the instant strong attraction he felt. Sparks flew and although both agreed it was a bad idea, the blind date quickly led into a one night stand. Once night turned into morning, Ryan’s conscience began to bother him because he realized Julie was not what he expected. She was honest, straightforward, and sincere. He admits to his deception and all those warm fuzzy feelings Julie had are extinguished.

Understandably, she is hurt. But after dealing with an absentee father and unfaithful ex fiancé, she would rather never see him again. Julie’s father is a jerk. Of course, you can guess this love story hasn’t happy ending because I gave it four stars. The plot thickens considerably and circumstances are created so Julie and Ryan are forced to spend time together. In which time, it gives Ryan plenty of opportunity, through trial and error, to convince Julie that she is the one for him.

My opinion

I love this story! Julie’s grandmother is a major meddler in everyone’s lives. However she is also the catalyst that brought them together. Julie and Ryan have valid reasons for their behavior, but it is good that they were empathetic enough to see and understand the other person side. Julie sisters were loving and supportive. Todd was extremely skeptical of Julie’s intentions but came around when he realized he was mistaken.

Words that come to mind when thinking of The Substitute Millionaire : Fun. Cute. Smiles and laughter. Entertaining with a really sweet, unexpected ending.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book!
