“What are we doing?” He questions, as he pulls hastily from our kiss. He shakes his head. “We can’t do this. My mind races as what could have caused such a sizable mark. I’ve had my fingers on it for no longer than a second when Sawyer flinches and pulls away again. He removes my hand from his shirt and then runs his fingers brashly through his hair. “I can’t do this, Fin. I can’t. I want to. Believe me. But you deserve better.”I look down at my feet while my hands wring within one another. “You have no idea what I deserve.” I say, ashamed at thinking for even a second I had a chance at being happy again.“You know why I’m here, Fin. I received these books in exchange for my honest opinion

ICE (The Elite Forces Series Book 1) 

FIRE (Elite Forces Series Book 2)

This story is a two books series. The first book ends in a humongous cliffhanger. Unless you want to only imagine everything turns out all right I do not recommend only buying one book. Buy both of them.

One of the things that I like to about this story was the fact Jade was an army ranger. She had to have gone through very rigorous training in order to achieve this level in the army. Although, as the story opens she is about to make a mistake that changes the course of her career.

I thought it was crazy how they first met and even crazier that within minutes of the meeting each other they were already banging. No judging or slut shaming because you have to understand what was happening and that means you need to read the book.

Maverick was in a class by himself. I cannot even begin to describe him. There were just so many different facets of his personality that it is difficult to say what type of person he is. What I can say is that he is a pure hottie of an alpha male.

In the second book we are delving more into Jade’s emotions and how she is dealing with the high intensity life that they have because of the dangerous nature of their chosen careers. At this point, I think the more that I got to know her, the crazier she became. It is not why you might think. She was such a control freak about her life because of past experiences. Falling in love with Maverick was not part of her plan. And when things were not in her control, she did not know how to handle it.

There were twists and turns in the plot that I did not think I could handle it all. But in the end, I was in a good place. Now I am ready to read the next book in the series.

TOW Final Word: Buy, Borrow, Pass?
BUY!!! Don’t be confused. This is not a sweet, cozy romance. This is an intense, in your face, high energy romance with so much action that you wonder what else could possibly happen.

“You going to stand there all day or get this sh*t done and over with, b*tch?” He stands with his arms spread open as if he’s waiting for me to drive the first punch. That’s exactly what I do. I nail him with a right hook that lands on the side of his temple. He staggers, but before I have time to swing again, he plows into me with a kick to my stomach, followed by a punch that leads to a crunching noise from my nose. Blood spurts down my face, and pain ricochets from one side of my head to the other. His arms go up like he’s challenging me to come at him again.
“Come on, Harris, you need this. I can take it, you p*ssy. Let’s go.” And I explode with that phrase. I grab him by the back of the neck, rolling us to the floor. Fists start flying fast and furious as if we’re fighting for our lives. An explosive punch to his ribs sets him off exactly how I want him. He attacks with the force I need. Brutal punches to my face bring pain to the surface before a sweep of my leg has me dropping back down to the floor. I welcome the pain. I need the pain. It eggs me on and revitalizes me in a way I crave.
My next move is both spontaneous and unpredictable even to myself. I move swiftly and smoothly, snapping up off the floor. A swift kick to his jaw before I tumble backwards leaves him stunned and holding his face.

It’s his punch to the side of my head that f***ing makes me feel I’m alive. Here’s the best part though, I don’t care if I’m alive. I care about nothing. This isn’t living, and yet it’s all I’ve got.
