I love my Kindle Fire so much

Ever since I received my Kindle Fire, Full Color 7″ Multi-touch Display, Wi-Fi , I have been using it like crazy.

I got it for my first year anniversary. I was not too sure at first if I would use it often. Confession: I have a lot of electronics that I don’t use that much even though I thought I needed them. Concerning the Kindle Fire, I thought it would be a novel toy that I take on trips to prevent boredom while travelling.

That did not happen.

The Kindle Fire is so easy to use and has a decent battery life. The wireless picks up well every time I am in an area with signal. I am able to download books and navigate the Internet quickly. I went to the AppStore and downloaded some games also.

Hardware wise, the only drawback for me is that the Kindle Fire does not come with a computer cable. I know that is a minor thing, but if I did not have wireless at home, I would be out of luck until I bought a cable. I think Amazon should include a computer cable instead of a plug in charger. Since wi-fi was not an issue for me, I can download books from Amazon straight to my Kindle Fire. {imagine me doing my happy dance}

I download books from Smashwords.com to my computer and email them to my Kindle Fire documents address. I think that is a handy little feature. As part of managing my Kindle through Amazon, I set up my email address for the wireless transfer. I also use the “Manage my Kindle” tab to manage my Kindle data in the Amazon digital cloud. Whatever is stored in the digital cloud can only be accessed when I have wi-fi connection. Any books that I am reading, I keep on my Kindle and when I am finished I delete from my device but leave in the cloud.

This is an e-reader on steroids. I has a great screen for color books, movies, blogs, or just web browsing. I watched movies for free using Amazon Prime Instant Video. I wish I could have downloaded the video to my device for watching later but I had to be connected to wireless in order to watch the movie. Other than that, the quality was good like I was watching tv. You have to have the $80 per year Amazon Prime subscription to enjoy this feature. That was no biggie for me because what I save on shipping costs through Prime is worth the membership.

If you buy a Kindle Fire, it is important to also sign up for a blog or email subscription that features daily spotlight on free or discounted books and apps. Amazon also sends emails of daily deals. Usually the books are deeply discounted for the day. I have bought a lot of books that I might not have otherwise purchased because they would have been out of my price range.

Overall: Kindle Fire is worth the price. It may not have all the functionality of an iPad (most notably no camera) but it has everything that I need at a fraction of the price. If you are thinking about getting an e-reader, I think this is the best option.

Romance Novel Review: Hot Westmoreland Nights – Brenda Jackson

Introverted, sheepherder Ramsey Westmoreland is more interested in his sheep than a relationship. He was emotionally detached because he was burned years ago by an unfaithful woman. So when he is approached by a successful woman’s magazine, Simply Irresistible, to be their fine, sexy front page model, he says no. Chloe is the editor of the magazine and decides that she will not take no for an answer. She travels out to his ranch with the intentions of changing his mind. Because of a case of mistaken identity, she does not get to tell him about that and ends up working for him as a ranch cook for two weeks.

It may sound really farfetched, but once you read how it happens, you can understand how Chloe got in the predicament. And then it is funny, but you know the time is going to come when the truth is going to come out.

While struggling to deal with the issues that made them both previously swear off relationships, Ramsey and Chloe have to come to terms with the fact that they have more than a passing attraction. And they do, it makes for some hot and steamy nights!

Bodies exhibition

If you are fascinated by the human body, YOU have to check out this exhibit. If you are studying to be in the medical field, YOU need to see
this exhibit.
You will have a whole new appreciation for bodily functions and motions that you took for granted. Examine the body from the inside out-circulatory, digestive, muscular, and all the other systems. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Although, it was difficult to go through the section about unborn bodies. It is sad to know that a life ended before it really got a chance to start.

I was inspired to exercise after seeing this. I heart my body and I want to take care of myself the best way I know how.
And in other thoughts, I do not know how someone can study the body in detail and not be convinced there is a Creator. The intelligence that was needed to make our body is definitely out of this world!

Senor Chicken – Washington DC

Senor Chicken was located in a little strip mall in Langley Park VA. I was hungry and wanted something other than McDonalds or Taco Bell. I found this place while shopping. Incidentally, I saw a lot of restaurants that said they served “Peruvian style chicken” and “Pollo a la brasa” (broiled chicken usually over fire). Of course you know that my mouth was watering at this point.
Since I was with my brother-in-law and his wife, we decided to order a whole chicken. It came with salad and a side. We got rice and beans. The
salad was average- cut up pieces of iceberg lettuce and small wedge of tomato. The rice and beans was well seasoned. I could taste the time and
effort that was put into preparing it.
The reason for the restaurant, the main course, the CHICKEN was delicious! Each piece, regardless if it was white or dark meat, was juicy. The seasoning permeated all parts of the chicken. It even seems as if the bones were seasoned well. It was not overly salty or spicy.

There was a little hint of smokiness since it was cooked over a fire in a brick or stone type of oven. It was served with two types of sauces. I
am guessing that the green sauce was supposed to be spicy. The cream sauce was almost like a thousand island type of sauce. I liked both so
much that I dipped my chicken in both sauces. This is not to say that the meat needed sauce. It did not need any sauce, ketchup, honey mustard
etc. It seemed to be more civilized to eat the sauce with my chicken instead of tipping the cup up to my mouth and drinking the sauce. I
think other customers would have agreed with me.

Overall: The chicken was scrumptious. IF can restrain yourself from eating a whole chicken and you are fortunate enough to have leftovers, the chicken does not lose flavor when it is reheated.

Post Corner Pizza and Restaurant

I chose this restaurant because it was walking distance from the hotel where I was staying in Clearwater Beach. This place serves diner food with some Greek and Italian dishes that cost just a little bit above regular diner prices. I suppose location is the reason for the slightly higher prices because it is located on Gulfview directly across from the beach.

I ordered Gyro platter which consisted of Gyro, French fries, and a small Greek salad. It cost $12.25. That was more than I wanted to pay, but I was hungry and did not feel like driving anywhere. The gyro was standard. I was not overly impressed but I was not disappointed either. Of all the varieties of French fries, my least favorite is the steak fry cut. And this is what they served. Needless to say, I ate them but I did not ENJOY them. The Greek salad was good mainly because of the Feta cheese. Love Feta.

I ordered cheesecake ($5.25/slice) for dessert. The cheesecake was rich and creamy as it is supposed to be. I was happy about that because it was a satisfying end to my meal.

Overall: This is a good diner choice if you are staying in Clearwater Beach. I don’t know if I would make a special trip for it.
