Synopsis

Opinion
The book is short – only five chapters. There is not a lot of time for character development. This story was a quickie just like their relationship. I was disappointed because I was expecting more.

I got this book because I liked the Russian Protector series by the author. Those books were HOT!!! I have never been in to mafia type romances, but Sergei had me rethinking everything!

This book was a spin off of that series. I think if the book had been longer, I probably would’ve liked it a lot better. I felt there was an attraction and a lot of lust, but I did not see a love connection.

Borrow because it is short and the story is not very developed.

Synopsis
Brock Badd is everything except bad. He’s sexy, sweet, strong, and every other good thing I never thought I wanted in a man. I always thought I needed the real bad boys, the ones that screw you senseless and pull your hair and aren’t there to talk about it in the morning.

I’ve always been a one-night stand kind of girl, and sometimes I wouldn’t even stick around for a full night. Brock was supposed to be a one-night stand—that’s how it started out, at least. Only, what was supposed to be a fun one-time-only hookup with a hot local guy ended up with me discovering Brock’s potency six different ways by breakfast.

That was all it took. One night with Brock, and I was hooked. But hooked doesn’t mean ready for a relationship.

That’s what he wants. And deep down, I’m starting to fear that’s what I want too.

I’m just not sure I’m ready for it.

I mean, he’s the literal epitome of tall, dark, and handsome, plus he’s a pilot…with a six-pack and perfect hair and a smile to melt me from the inside out. How’s a girl supposed to resist that? I couldn’t. I can’t. I’ve tried, but I keep going back for more.

I’ve got it bad, real BADD.

Opinion
This book was emotionally intense. The author did a great job in creating an imperfectly, flawed, complicated characters.

I loved Brock. He was a strong alpha male. He was ready to push when Claire needed pushing , but still able to show tenderness and provide her with the emotional support. I cannot say enough good things about Brock. He was all the things you want in a real man.

Claire, on the other hand, had a lot of emotional baggage. From the beginning, I did not feel she was worthy of all Brock’s goodness. Mainly because he was serious about their relationship and she wanted it stay very casual.

She’s not your usual commitment phobe. **HINT** It is not because her first boyfriend cheated on her. Her emotional issues are way deeper than that. She has REAL problems not easily resolved. There is anger, hurt, and anguish all wrapped up into what has created who she is.

The author gives you a HEA, but she makes you wonder if it will be possible. Honestly, when it was said and done, I felt a little drained because I was so emotionally invested. I wondered how much more could I take. What else could happen?

I did not always agree with Claire’s life choices, but I was sympathetic to her pain. She was dealt a lot of heartache in life and coped the only way she knew how. After reading this book, I could not stop thinking about it for a couple of days. That is when I realized how good this book was. I was not prepared!

The first two books in the series were not as intense. I loved them but they did not touch me like this.

BUY. It is definitely an emotional ride. The writing was well done and the characters were real to me.

Mating Wars: Cygnus 

Synopsis
Aura is looking for scrap metals or anything of value in space so that she can sell it and eke out a living instead of fighting in the wars on earth.
Cygnus is a purple skinned bear shifter who has been in stasis, floating in his pod in space. Soon after he awakes, his pod is found by Aura. After a run in with pirates, they are on the run for their lives.

Opinion
This was a fun story! I do not prefer first POV books, but I was intrigued to read about 7-foot purple skinned bear shifter alien with teal genitalia. It was something about the description that made me so interested.
Once I started reading, I was hooked. There is a lot of dialogue and that helps keep the story moving.

Aura was very feisty and held her own with Cygnus. He thinks that he has to defend Aura and cannot understand why she does not stay on the sidelines while he proceeds to fight on their behalf.

What is hilarious is that every time that Aura saves him out of a sticky situation, Cygnus takes it as a “shame debt” that he has to repay. Plus, Aura has to teach him the benefits of being polite since he is used to using his strength to get whatever he wants.

Even though the whole idea of a female holding her own is a culture shock to Cygnus, it all ends well because he is genuinely a nice guy that is trying to do what is best.

BUY. This book will have you laughing out loud.

Synopsis
Wyatt kidnaps Ellie because he loves her and he wants to convince her that she should fall in love and marry him.

Ellie does not know what to make of the man who kidnapped her. She is not going to give up without a fight though. Not like the last time. However, this captor is different. He seems to care about her wellbeing and is not trying to torture her.

Opinion
What did I just read? And why?

This has to be the most screwed up plotlines I have ever read. I think that is why I kept reading.

Wyatt is a crazy guy that thinks kidnapping a girl will make her realize that he is husband material. And his family is all on board with this wacked out psycho scenario.

And it still all works out. I’m still confused.

BORROW if you have a dying curiosity to see how this story plays out. Don’t blame me for how you might feel afterwards.

Dazzled (Dragon Mates Book 1)

Synopsis
Sebastian is a dragon shifter and art collector. He has been searching for the remainder of his treasure that was stolen from his family.

Lacey is lead curator for Sebastian’s art collection exhibit. She is aware of their chemistry and attraction but she does not want to act on it because she works for him.

Opinion
It seems the story begins in the middle of their romance. Sebastian and Lacey have been working together for some time. I don’t know how I feel about Sebastian being so flirty because I think that he was probably a borderline sexual harassment case waiting to happen.

It’s a good thing she was actually into him and playing hard to get. I won’t even begin to imagine would have happen had she NOT wanted a relationship with him. Hopefully, her “NO” would have meant no to him.

Other than that potential awkwardness, the story was your standard man-chases-woman-until-he-gets-her story. Their chemistry was good. Then a misunderstanding and a little subterfuge almost tears them apart. Sebastian realizes his mistake but it’s almost too late.

Despite the fact that they knew each other for a while, I still rate this as an insta-lust to love story.
